The FA Emergency Aid Award

The FA Emergency Aid award is a 3 hour workshop which includes basic first aid, CPR and is a necessary prerequisite element for all FA/1st4Sport Coaching awards. The award is valid for 3 years from the date of issue and must be regularly renewed in order to comply with FA CPD regulations.
With effect from 1st August 2013 FA Learning (FAL) will ONLY accept The FA Emergency Aid (EA) or Basic First Aid for Sport (BFAS) certificates as a pre-requisite for FAL coaching courses and for the purposes of retaining Charter Standard status via the annual Health Checks.
Who is it for: A short course over 3 hours to train club representatives in resuscitation and life-saving skills.
Course aims and objectives: To preserve life, limit the effect of injury and promote recovery This course will cover the following subjects: - Incident Management - Assessing the casualty - Recovery position - CPR - Heart attacks - Choking - Asthma - Head injuries - Practical Involvement: The course contains content of a practical and functional nature, given this participants should be in good general health. Students should appreciate that the course contains practical components where they will work with other course members. - Assessment: Attendance on the course Practical participation/demonstration of various components of the course content. - Re-assessment: N/A Refresher: First Aid qualifications have a three year validity, this qualification must be renewed every 3 years.
