Evidence shows that effective feedback leads to raised attainment. This course will help you demonstrate that you are developing students’ ideas, tracking their progress and creating strategies to inform what you will teach next, while ensuring students retain ownership of their learning. Approaches considered will support assessment without levels.
You will be able to: - Trial and develop a range of research informed AfL teaching strategies to promote students’ learning in science - Design, plan and implement lessons which demonstrate enhanced practice in the use of AfL -Develop strategies for tracking students’ progress and to inform what you will teach next and develop approaches to support assessment without levels.

Impact Award
Subject to funding from the Department for Education, this course qualifies for an Impact Award bursary for teachers/technicians. Applicants must be employed in a state funded school or college, including maintained schools, academies and free schools. Registration for the course with the Science Learning Centre also acts as application for the Impact Award. All participants will need to complete the Impact Toolkit on completion of the course. The Impact Toolkit will be sent electronically by the Science Learning Centre to each person booked. The Impact Award is a cash back bursary paid after completion of the course.
