Nigel has worked as an Advanced Skills Teacher at Shenley Brook End School for the past six years and as an SLE since the start of 2013. Prior to this he was an Assistant Headteacher for five years and led the Schools Maths and Computing specialist status. Nigel also has five years experience in leading a large maths department.

 

In his capacity as an AST Nigel has worked with both primary and secondary schools on a variety of bespoke projects. These have included improving Year 6 students investigative maths skills, introducing algebra effectively, teaching maths creatively and functional maths via a virtual learning environment share trading project.

 

Nigel has also played a key role in the setting up of the Milton Keynes Creative Maths Network and continues to play a part in its development.
