Matthew has been Head of the Art Faculty at Denbigh School for two years having for the previous 7 years been a Head of Art at Elizabeth Woodville. At Denbigh, he has led the rapid improvement in teaching and learning within Art, leading a dramatic improvement in examination results. I have completed the OTP through the Denbigh Teaching Alliance and the Coaching to Outstanding programme.  Prior to joining Denbigh School, he successfully completed Leading from the Middle as part of the National College and a Post Graduate Certificate in Advanced Educational Practise, at Distinction level, completed at Oxford Brookes as part of the Artist Teachers Scheme.

 

In his previous leadership role, Matthew worked with subject leaders of PE, Music and Drama to embed practices that motivated and engaged students to achieve higher attainment.  In this role he used his own subject area as a model and disseminated working practices and assessment frameworks to promote improvement.
