WELCOME
School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) allows graduates to train as teachers in local schools.
Denbigh Teaching School in partnership with St Paul’s Catholic School, PEP:mk and more than 60 partner schools from Milton Keynes and the surrounding area will be training primary, early years and secondary teachers from 2017/18. The secondary course will be 11-16 with post 16 enhancement.
Apply to us through the Tommy Flowers SCITT or through the School Direct route under the Denbigh Teaching School Alliance. Both routes provide the same training.
There are two overarching elements to the course: the development as a professional and the development as a subject specialist. These are not separate and all aspects of the year intertwine and overlap. The best ITT students have a clear understanding of their role and responsibilities as a teacher in a school.
The SCITT is a natural addition to the teacher training already offered by Denbigh Teaching School Alliance, St Paul's and PEP:mk. We work in partnership with all secondary schools in Milton Keynes and many primary schools in Milton Keynes and the surrounding area. We have well established links with a range of providers and are very pleased to be working with the University of Leicester.
